Privacy policy

When you make a purchase from Grutto Design online, we naturally need some of your details. This is to process your order and for our administrative purposes. The same applies when sending an invoice or processing a special order or custom item.

The following information is requested or processed by us:

First and Last Name
It’s nice to address you by your name. We usually use your first name, but for invoices or quotes, we will also use your last name. Additionally, it’s helpful for the delivery person to know your name when they drop off a package. We also want to know who our customer is so we can add you to our club.

Address and Place of Residence
We need an address to send mail or packages. This ensures that the delivery person knows exactly where to deliver the mail or where to ring the bell. These details will only be used in our internal records. For shipments, we use SendCloud, which generates shipping labels, and PostNL is used for delivery.

Phone Number (optional)
In some cases, such as special orders or custom requests, it’s useful for us to have a phone number. This allows us to contact you more quickly or directly. Outside of calling or texting, your phone number will not be used for anything else. It’s optional to provide, but very helpful in case we need to reach you with any issues during delivery.

Payment Details and Invoices
We use a secure payment environment for all our transactions. You definitely don’t want your payment details to fall into the wrong hands. If you pay via bank transfer, your details are stored in our system and linked to your order so we know exactly what’s been paid for.

When you make an online payment, your details are sent directly to Mollie via our secure environment. Mollie handles our iDeal payments and informs us whether your payment was successful. We have no insight into your bank details. Payments can also be made via PayPal, which is subject to their terms and conditions.

The following details will appear on your invoice: your first and last name, address, place of residence, invoice number, and order number. These details cannot be changed after they’ve been generated. Your order number helps us track what you ordered and when.

IP Address
We store your IP address to ensure a secure and optimal shopping experience for all our customers. Please also refer to our COOKIE policy for more details.

Email Address
Your email address is our primary means of communication. You’ll receive your order confirmation, delivery information, and invoice via email. If you’ve signed up for an ‘in-stock notification,’ you’ll receive an email when the product is available again. We use your email to verify that the order and order number match, ensuring no one is claiming a return or warranty for a product they never purchased from us. We also use your email for general and personalized communication. If you no longer wish to receive emails, you can adjust your preferences in your account or unsubscribe via the link at the bottom of the emails.

Newsletter & Email
We only send newsletters with your consent. If you no longer wish to receive newsletters, you can unsubscribe using the link at the bottom of every newsletter.

In addition to our general newsletters, we also send personalized newsletters based on your interests and previous purchases. This way, we ensure the newsletter is as relevant as possible to you.

Lastly, emails will only be sent when you’ve placed an order with us. We’ll send you a confirmation, shipping notification, and invoice. Emails may also be used to resolve any delays or issues with your order.

Personalized Advice
When you visit our website, we recognize you as a unique visitor and track your behavior. We analyze which pages you visit, what links you click, and what filters you use. This information is stored centrally and used to improve our website.

We also use this data to display relevant advertisements to you on our website or through third parties. For example, you won’t see yellow cycling socks when you’re looking for blue ones, or aero socks when you’re searching for ankle socks.

Rest assured, we handle your data with care. And when involving third parties, we ensure they do the same.

We also use cookies to better understand you as a customer. On our cookie page, you can see what cookies are used. If you don’t want us to use cookies, you can remove them, and we will no longer recognize you as a unique visitor, meaning you won’t receive personalized ads. The website will still function normally, but it won’t be tailored specifically to you.

Social Media
We are active on social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest. You can also watch our videos on YouTube. On these platforms, we show you relevant products or offers based on your interests. However, your customer data is never shared with these platforms.
